  3. Select Web 2.0 tools to use with your students and/or other educators.

This is Important Because………

We live in a world in which jobs are changing and requirements for workers are shifting so much that the most important skill for the future is adaptability. Businesses are requiring employees to have new skills and use new tools to run their business. Young people need to be prepared technologically and intellectually. This is a challenging time to be an educator. The world is changing around us, yet our educational system has been very slow to react. Our students' realities in terms of the way they communicate and learn are very different from our own. It seems like they are "out there" using a wide variety of technologies that they do not use at school or they are told they cannot use it when they come to school. Our students our building social networks, texting, e-mailing with little or no guidance form adults.
How do we rethink our ideas of literacy when we must prepare our students to become not only readers and writers, but editors and collaborators and publishers as well?
How can we as learners begin to take advantage of the opportunities these tools and use them to integrate into our curriculum?
